The College Access Forum includes resources for college access practitioners and information about the College Access Initiative, NCHER's External Advisory Committee and the college access listserv.

College Access Initiative
The College Access Initiative, included in the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, formalizes a foundational role of guaranty agencies in promoting access to postsecondary education and requires that they develop a comprehensive listing of the postsecondary education opportunities, programs, publications and other services available in their designated states.

Common Claim Initiative (CCI)
The Common Claim Initiative (CCI) provides the means to realize operational efficiencies while maintaining the integrity of both default aversion activities and claim filing through standardized forms and their electronic equivalent. For claim filing purposes, CCI promotes operational efficiencies and common standards for the FFEL community to utilize in the submission, acceptance, review and payment of claims for Federal insurance. CCI also provides consistency in the data collected necessary for Post Default Collections.

Common Review Initiative (CRI)
The Common Review Initiative has been undertaken to identify ways in which guarantors can cooperate in conducting lender program reviews, bringing greater efficiencies, more consistency, and other benefits to all parties involved in the review process.

ECASLA Implementation
The information below is regarding the Department of Education Secretary’s Authority to Purchase Loan under Ensuring Continuing Access to Student Loans Act of 2008 (P.L. 110-227 – HR 5715). This information has been compiled to include both information and guidance provided by the Department of Education and the efforts by the FFEL community to support these programs, more commonly referred to as the Participation and Put programs.

Income-Based Repayment (IBR)
The Income-Based Repayment plan is included in the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 (CCRAA) provisions and will become available on July 1, 2009. This page is a compilation of resources and information to assist in its implementation.

Meteor ®
